Abstract:

Seasonal variation in water quality of Anchar Lake was evaluated using multivariate statistical techniques- principal component analysis (PCA) and cluster analysis (CA). Water quality data collected during 4 seasons was analyzed for 13 parameters. ANOVA showed significant variation in pH (F3 = 10.86, P < 0.05), temperature (F3 = 65, P

Multivariate statistical techniques for the assessment of seasonal variations in surface water quality of pasture ecosystems.

This study investigates the applicability of multivariate statistical techniques including cluster analysis (CA), discriminant analysis (DA), and factor analysis (FA) for the assessment of seasonal variations in the surface water quality of tropical pastures. The study was carried out in the TPU catchment, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The dataset consisted of 1-year monitoring of 14 parameters at si...

On the Seasonal Changes in the Surface Water Chemistry of Museum Lake, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India

The surface water chemistry of Thiruvananthapuram Museum Lake was carried out in the period of February 2013 to January 2014. Correlation study of the parameters and overall CCME WQI (Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment Water quality Index) was also prepared in the study for the lake water. The parameters analysed are cations such as Ca2+, Na+, Mg2+ and K+ and the anions like PO4-,...

Assessment of water quality in Hussainsagar lake and its inlet channels using multivariate statistical techniques

Application of different multivariate statistical approaches for the interpretation of data obtained during a monitoring programme of Hussainsagar Lake and its catchment area at Hyderabad (India) is presented in this study. The waste water coming from the catchment is being directly discharged in to the lake, forming point and non point sources of contamination of lake water. This study analyze...
